The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is shared department between Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg with about 200 faculty and 70 PhD students from about 30 countries. CSE provides a dynamic research environment and has groups of world renown in a number of fields. The research spans the whole spectrum, from theoretical underpinnings to applied systems development. The Software Engineering division (SE div.) is one of the environments which has a long tradition of industrial collaborations within projects financed by Vinnova, SSF, The Wallenberg Foundation (eg., WASP), EU and directly by companies. The research within the SE div. covers amongst others software architecture, requirements engineering, model-based software development, software metrics and software testing. The department has a Software Center that initiates and performs industrially relevant research with national and international partners.
