Université de Neuchâtel

The Université de Neuchâtel was founded in 1838. It is one of the top research universities in Switzerland in various scientific domains. Most notably, it is embedded in the local research and development tissue centred on microelectronics and nanotechnologies including the Institute of Microengineering (IMT-EPFL) and the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM). The University has a strong experience in participating in European projects.

The Complex Systems group, part of the Computer Science Institute, represent UNINE in the VEDLIoT. The group expertise lies in the large-scale systems, and the current activities focus on cloud computing, concurrent programming, distributed storage, dependability and security, expanding from the server side to the edges of the network. In particular, its researchers have been actively working on the dependability, security, and energy efficiency of small devices, as found in IoT, and they have been developing novel techniques to acquire, transmit, store, and process massive amounts of data in such heterogeneous settings in the context of several national and European research projects. Its members publish regularly in major international conferences and journals in the fields of research addressed by VEDLIoT.
